Dr. Augustus Jessopp 1824 - 1914

The Arcadian Club is a specialist group within the Trust. It studies the life and works of the local antiquarian Dr. Augustus Jessopp. He was the rector of Scarning for 30 years until 1902.

The video below records the rededication of Dr Augustus Jessopp's memorial in the churchyard of SS Peter & Paul Church, Scarning by Revd. Canon Sally Theakston on 30th May 2014. The rededication was followed by a rogation walk.

Online Archive of Arcadian Club Newsletters

The aim of the Arcadian Club is to study the life and work of Revd Augustus Jessopp, Rector of Scarning 1879-1911, and noted antiquarian. It was formed in 1996 and is now part of the Dereham Antiquarian Society.
